| WEDNESDAY WINDOW ON THE WORLD IMB March 10, 2010 * Please join in a day of prayer and fasting on March 13 for the members of the Presidential Search Committee as they seek the man whom God has chosen to be the next president of the IMB. * Praise the Lord for a university student in Taiwan who accepted Jesus as his Savior as a result of a Christmas Cultural Exchange! * Pray that barriers will be overcome to reaching the unreached Yinuo Nosu people of China, who live in fear and bondage to the spirit world. * Give thanks to the Lord for providing a permanent meeting place for a congregation in Israel that has had to move round for 15 years. *In Ethiopia, a believer was arrested last year for distributing Bibles; praise God for his witness to others while in prison, and please pray for his release. WORLD. From Jimmy Pritchard, Chairman of the Presidential Search Committee: “We have come to the most crucial aspect in our search for the next leader of the IMB. As God continues to narrow our focus, we remain dependent upon the leadership of the Holy Spirit and the prayers of God’s people in this process. Our committee requests that Southern Baptists set aside March 13 as a day of prayer and fasting to ask God to direct our path to the man He has chosen as our next president. Thank you for your partnership as we embrace these great days of opportunity with the confidence of God’s approval and leadership.” TAIPEI, TAIWAN (tie-BAY). The Project Taipei Team did Christmas outreaches in various schools in December. Join them in giving thanks to God as they write: “You’ve prayed for these endeavors in the past, and this time, one of the professors at Yang Ming Medical University wrote to give us some very encouraging words. She wrote to say that one of her students told her that she was doing the right thing by asking the foreigners to come into the school to share. The student’s boyfriend, who previously had this professor and this Christmas Cultural Exchange experience and who is in his third year of university study, has now become a Christian! Thank you so much for joining us in praying according to God’s will so that we can see fruit from our labors.” kctaipei@hotmail.com EAST ASIAN UNENGAGED PEOPLES. Pray for the salvation of the Yinuo Nosu people of China. Less than 1 percent of these 523,000 people know Christ. Intimidating mountains, rugged terrain, and cultural and linguistic barriers have prevented the Gospel from spreading to the Yinuo Nosu. Someone familiar with the Yinuo Nosu wrote: “They are not indifferent to spiritual matters, and are open to spiritual conversations. They are, in fact, held hostage by the spirit world. Spiritual leaders make sacrifices on a weekly, if not daily, basis in many villages. They are a people who know well the power of the spiritual world, but who are also seeking for a way out of bondage and fear.” Pray that these people can be set free through salvation in Christ. http://eastasianpeoples.imb.org/ ISRAELI JEWS OF ISRAEL. You prayed for a Messianic congregation that had purchased a floor of a building in which to meet, after 15 years of moving around, only to be asked to leave time after time. Thank the Lord that the contract was finally signed, and money has been supplied by the Lord to continue the renovations. SOMALI OF THE HORN OF AFRICA (suh-MAH-lee). A Somali believer named B was imprisoned in mid-2009 for distributing Bibles in the Somali region of Ethiopia. In the past, B has had a very successful ministry in the Horn. After many months in prison, he is seemingly not being given due process or a fair trial. Though originally B was held due to “perpetuating religious clash in the region,” a source working for his release reports that he might currently be charged with terrorism. (Presumably, charges related to religion would not hold up in an Ethiopian court, so other charges have been created.) Though Ethiopian law should guarantee him a fair trial and freedom of religion, some report that B’s case is being handled by Somali regional authorities in order to “protect the religion and culture of Somalis.” Authorities seem reticent to call for his release, since public sentiment has been stirred up against him; tribal and religious authorities are also exerting their own pressure on the situation. Pray that the appropriate authorities will take an interest in B’s case and that he will be acquitted of all charges. B continues to share with those he encounters in prison. Ask that his ministry will continue to bear fruit. Pray that God will be glorified among the Somalis through B’s release. |

God's Word for you this week "I love the house where you live, O Lord, the place where your glory dwells." (Ps. 26:8) Prayer for this week "I agree today with David...I love your house Lord. I love your house because it is where you are. I always want to be where you are. Thank you for the awesome privilege of being where your glory dwells today. Awaken me from my spiritual sleepiness that I might truly experience your glory this day." Reading for this week "Revival and change are almost synonymous terms and both clearly cut across traditionalism. There is no way true revival can occur without major changes disrupting and reordering the life of the Church... God is no traditionalist. While God is orderly, He is always fresh and vital. If a church can run according to forms and traditions of men, it will run without the presence and power of God ... Is it any wonder the love of tradition is an enemy to revival? Revival and new life go hand in hand ... Let every church realize that the inordinate love of tradition is a great opponent to revival ... When a church slays the love of tradition, a major obstacle to revival will be slain With it." -Richard Owen Roberts Dave Butts Harvest Prayer Ministries and National Prayer Committee National Day of Prayer Task Force |

| Wednesday Evenings 6:30pm Come join us here at Blake Road Baptist Church as we pray for each other, our community, our soldiers, and for whatever is on your mind. |
| Subject: Power of Prayer Someone has said if Christians really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Did you know that during WWII there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace? There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America . If you would like to participate: Every evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central) (7:00 PM Mountain) (6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, and for a return to a Godly nation. If you know anyone else who would like to participate, please pass this along. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have. And for good measure, in case you may forget at the agreed upon time – say a quick prayer right now. Even people without faith believe in the power of prayer, if they didn’t, why do they ask those of us with faith, to pray for them when they get into a bind? Best advice I’ve ever heard on that = ask, “Can I pray with you right now?” |
