I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
John 8:12

God's Word for you this week
'What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."' (II Cor. 6:16)

Prayer for this week
"Your promise to live with me and walk with me is astonishing, Lord. Forgive me for the many times I forget this and live my days as though it is just me. Open my eyes to see you walking among your people. Your promises, O Lord, are true, even when I am walking in unawareness of them. Thank you for dwelling in this temple of your choosing."

Reading for this week
"My brethren, it can never be done. We may appear successful; the crowds may come; the altar may be full night after night. Reported results may be broadcast everywhere. Whole cities may be stirred and mightily moved! And yet when it is all over and two or three years have passed, how little will be found to have been genuine! And why? Simply because we have been satisfied with a superficial, spectacular work, brought to pass by natural means. Consequently the truly supernatural has been largely lacking. Oh let us get back to intercessory prayer, the highest form of Christian service, and give God no rest until we have a spiritual outcome."   -Oswald J. Smith

Matthew 6:31-34

Do not worry, nor be anxious
For what you'll eat or wear
For God knows just what we need
So we need not live in fear
We needn't strive, nor seek these things
For God provides what we need
And we shall live in His provision
From His Abundance, we shall feed
So do not worry about tomorrow
Just take one day at a time
For tomorrow has worries of its own
We need to leave it behind
We need to seek God's kingdom first
Then all these things will be given
Also to seek His righteousness
And keep our eyes on Heaven

“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,”- 1 Peter 3:15

* Give thanks to the Lord that at an Encountering God Retreat in the Philippines, lives were cleansed and the body of Christ was united to further God’s kingdom among the Bicolanos.

* Pray that despite an earlier wave of persecution, believers among the Sol people of Indonesia will overcome a spirit of fear and share fearlessly with the lost at every opportunity.

* Praise the Good Shepherd for bringing 20 lost sheep into the fold when a journeyman and two volunteers responded to the Bozo of West Africa’s request to “tell us about ‘the Jesus Road.’”

* Please pray that at least one remote Antankarana village in Madagascar will allow the Bible to be taught, and that the people will desire to gather and hear the Good News.

BICOLANOS OF THE PHILIPPINES (bee-koh-LAH-nohs). Please continue praying for those who attended the Encountering God Retreat in April at the home of Bicol Team members Terry and Michaelle B. The Lord brought 60 delegates and 20 ministers who either led the retreat or came to assist with parts of it. Filipino Baptist pastors, who called on Great Commission Christians from time to time to assist them, led the Encounter. Denominational ties were set aside, and the body of Christ united to further God’s kingdom among the Bicolanos. Food preparations had been made for only 60 people, but the Lord graciously fed everyone. Terry and Michaelle write: “Since we had not attended an Encounter before, we, too, were delegates who fully participated and encountered God afresh as a result. We rejoiced as the Filipinos took the lead and ministered to us spiritually. God’s Spirit filled Pastor P as he organized and led the Encounter. Most of those who attended the Encounter fully participated, dealing with sins and strongholds in their lives. Many of us cried as we heard the personal testimonies of those who had once been in bondage to sin but, through Christ, had won the victory and became free. After each testimony, delegates took time to deal with those same sins in their own lives. As a result, God cleansed the lives of all who came to Him with open hearts. This Encounter guided new believers to eradicate any barriers they had in preparation for being discipled.” http://bicol4christ.blogspot.com

SOL OF INDONESIA (sohl). Christian believers make up a small minority of the Sol people. A spirit of fear and distrust has remained among believers since a wave of persecution swept over them seven years ago. The traditional church has focused inward since that time, but is now beginning to focus outward and obey the command to go and tell. Pray that the believers will continue to grow passionate for the lost, sharing fearlessly at every opportunity. Pray also that heads of households will come to faith, as their influence typically results in entire households being saved.

BOZO OF WEST AFRICA (BOH-zoh). “So . . . tell us about ‘the Jesus Road.’” The Bozo Team writes: “This was the request made to our journeyman and two volunteers when they returned to a new village in which they had recently shared chronological Bible stories. This time, more men had gathered to listen to the teaching these young women brought with them. The women storied ‘Creation to Christ’ through a translator, and the men hung on every word. As soon as the story was finished, their rapt attention turned into an urgency to accept Christ right then. Eighteen people from five different people groups came to know Christ as their Savior that day! Two days later, three of those men led two more men to follow the Jesus Road. Praise the Good Shepherd for bringing 20 lost sheep into the fold!”

ANTANKARANA OF MADAGASCAR (ahn-tahn-CAR-ah-nah). Missionary apprentices Michael and Michelle Allen had been waiting for the rainy season in northern Madagascar to end and the dirt roads to dry enough to be passable so they could reach pure Antankarana villages. There are approximately 140,000 Antankarana people. Some live in Diego Suarez, the same city as the Allens, and nearby villages, but most of them live in very difficult-to-reach places geographically. The Allens were thrilled to be able to finally access the geographical heart of their people, but there are more barriers to reaching the Antankarana than geography. Folk Islam has staked its claim in the area. After arriving in a village made up of more than 400 Antankarana who live in houses made of sticks and thatched roofs, the Allens greeted the peopled and then followed proper protocol by asking for the president. He was working in the rice fields, but when he finally came to where they were, he brought the mosque leader with him. They were both very nice, but in the end, it was made clear that the Bible could not be taught in that village. Thankfully, there was another place where a village elder and some others showed an openness to learning the Bible. The president was not there, though, so the Allens will return soon to meet with him. Please pray that at least one Antankarana village will allow the Bible to be taught, and that the people will desire to gather and hear the Good News and, ultimately, desire Christ Jesus.
