| Chapter 3 of the book of John, verse 16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life." God loved you and me so much that He was willing to give up His only Son to die for your sins and mine so that we could have eternal life. Next read in the 3rd chapter of Romans, verse 23 that, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Everyone has sinned and everyone falls short of what God intended for us to do. In Romans the 6th chapter and the 23rd verse we are told, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Now here's the good part, although we are all sinners and we deserve to die there is a salvation from this fate. Through His Son Jesus we can have eternal life and it is free because Jesus took every one of our sins when He died on the cross and He paid the price for us. How do you receive this free gift of love and eternal life? You simply realize and admit that you are a sinner, believe that Jesus paid your price for the gift, by dying on the cross and that God raised Him from the dead and confess this belief. In Romans 10:13, we are told, for "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." You can "call on the name of the Lord" merely by praying. Your prayer could be something like this: "Lord, I admit that I am a sinner and wish to confess to You now and tell You that I am sorry and ask for your forgiveness. I realize that this is a gift from You and that Jesus paid the price for me by dying on the cross. I believe that after three days He rose from that death to be my Savior. Lord Jesus forgive me of my sins and come and live in my heart. Thank you Jesus for saving me."
